Busy weekend

Just back from a very busy wedding fair at the Lymm Hotel. Lots of enquiries and contact forms completed so need to do the prize draw and see who won the portrait shoot.

First wedding fair for us and by all accounts it was very high turnout so let's hope that converts to some nice wedding shoots!

September Wedding Booking

Lots of Wedding shot editing this week and a September Wedding booking from a meeting on Tuesday. Really looking forward to the venue - Davenport Green in Hale, Cheshire.

Really intersting meeting with a member of the clergy on Friday. To say he was not quite what I expected would be an understatement. It's so refreshing when they have a relaxed attitude.

Cocktail parties, Weddings and Baby Bumps

Day off today after a busy couple of days. Good night at the Claire House cocktail party on Thursday and a really enjoyable wedding shoot yesterday with Tracey and Neil. Might just have to watch England later today to get me back down to earth.

Got a baby bump shoot tomorrow with Rachel and Michael - managed to convince her it was a good idea!

First Baby Bump Shoot of the year

Managed to book my first baby bump shoot of the year this week. Only six weeks before her due date so let's hope she holds on until we get the shoot done.

Got a charity Summer Cocktail Party shoot booked for Thursday so hoping for a good turnout. Can't remember when I last wore a tie!

Busy weekend

Shot a wonderful Wedding on Friday at the The Last Drop Village, Bolton with Melanie and Geff. They really were a joy to work with which always helps the event go smoothly.

Couldn't have asked for any better weather which obviously got everyone in a great mood for outdoor shots.

A day at the races at Haydock for some R&R on Saturday and an engagement shoot on Sunday afternoon.

Now it's back to the PC to start culling and editing!

Admin day!

I don't know if you're like me and seem to leave all those admin task to pile up on the corner of your desk but I had to spend a good part of yesterday catching up!

After that I decided to take a look at the album design software from Jorgensen whose exhibiton I mentioned on Tuesday - it really is as easy to use as they claim - now there's a first!!

So a big congratulations to a company whose product actually takes the frustration out of album design.

Album time!

Spent most of today putting together a wedding album, part shot in New Zealand and then back home in Farnborough.

Got a bit fried late morning so headed off to an album supplier exhibition.

Glad I did as I now have a good additional product range to offer - quality products from Jorgensen Albums from Oz. Really nice guys and the software looks simple (wait until I start using it in anger!)

Back home refreshed and finished off the album layout then emailed it to the client in PDF for review.

Holiday over!

Well, back from a glorious ten day break in Tenerife. Can't believe how quickly it passed. Lying by the pool, good food and drink with lots of paperbacks.

A relaxing quiet family weekend planned then editing photos from the fashion shoot on 1st of May before it all kicks off with pre-wedding and Wedding shoots and some beautiful properties to shoot. Also got a couple of albums to put together so should be kept busy for a while!

Model shoot

Had yesterday all planned for weeks to do a model fashion shoot at a disused railway station. Check the Met Office web site and it's going to rain!

Rearrange and get use of a great indoor space for the shot, go pick up the girls and head over to the location and g
et all set up for what turned out to be a good shoot.

Good old Met Office got it all wrong as per usual so we could have done the railway shoot after all. Guess it will keep for another day.

Here's one shot from the day - Nicki really is getting into posing with very little instruction!

Good Week!

What a good week this has been. Three wedding bookings and signed up a worldwide architect and civil engineering company

By some strange coincidence all three weddings are at the same gorgeous location - how strange is that?!

The commercial client wants an initial list of one-off prestige properties photographed for their web site and sales and marketing materials so plenty opportunity for a bit of creative licence!

Early start today for BNI then a meeting with a bridal brochure company this afternoon. Off to deliver a pull up banner to a client now and that's it until tomorrow afternoon.

Claire House hospice

Spent part of Monday at Claire House children's hospice on The Wirral. Working with them to build a library of images to use in all their promotional and marketing efforts.

They are such a wonderful group of people doing a magnficent job under very difficult financial constraints. Wouldn't it make real sense to use Lottery money to help such worthwhile organisations rather than some of the wasteful "causes" that get it?!

Pre-wedding shoot

Lunchtime pre-wedding shoot with Neil and Jenna at Risely Moss. Got really lucky with the weather - we rearranged the schedule to shoot first and talk later so got finished just before the rain started - not often I get that lucky! They really are a lovely couple, so photogenic which makes it so much easier to work together. Can't wait for the Wedding day now!

Wedding at Statham Lodge Hotel

Visited Statham lodge Hotel today in preparation for an upcoming wedding. Spent some time with the duty manager to get his insight into the best locations for shots.

Had a good wander round the grounds and also checked out the Bridal Suite
. Have to say the people there are really nice and helpful. It really is a lovely location and I'm certainly looking forward to Tracey and Neils Wedding there in June.

New homes and blogs!

Another beautiful day in sunny Cheshire! Off shortly to photograph some new build homes near Wilmslow then it's off to "the web doctor" to talk about blogging and SEO.

First Attempt!

Well I reckoned it was time to look into this blogging business as a means of keeping everyone updated with what I am doing.

Last weekend was very busy with a playgroup starting things off on Friday followed by a local Audi dealer social event on Saturday and a special event for Claire House Childrens' Hospice on Sunday.

Delivered the proofs to the playgroup and they are delighted with them. Took a slightly different approach so hopefully that will increase interest (and sales!).

The plan is to keep this updated frequently with my various work projects and other related actvities. Just need to get disciplined enough and make it happen!
